An upcoming, sustainable, tech-enabled community palliative care initiative

Tumaini is being established in Dagoretti South, Nairobi, to respond to the growing need for continuous, dignified palliative care for patients with life-limiting illnesses — especially in under-served communities.

Tumaini means Hope.
Our work is being designed to restore dignity, comfort, and continuity of care for patients, families, and caregivers.

 

Current Status

Tumaini is currently in its foundational and partnership-building phase.
Clinical services will be introduced in phases following registration, site setup, staffing, and regulatory alignment.

Across Kenya, many patients lose continuity of care once they leave hospital. Families are left to manage pain, symptoms, and emotional needs with limited support.
